
Stevan Harnad

Stevan Harnad est un chercheur canadien en sciences cognitives et en communication scientifique. Ses domaines de recherche englobent les sciences cognitives, l’accès ouvert, et la sentience animale. Il a apporté une contribution significative à des sujets tels que la catégorisation, la communication, la cognition, et la conscience, notamment dans les domaines de la perception catégorielle, de l’ancrage symbolique, de l’origine du langage, de la latéralisation, du test de Turing, de la cognition distribuée, de la scientométrie, et de la conscience.De plus, il est largement reconnu pour son engagement dans le mouvement en faveur de l’accès ouvert à la recherche scientifique. Harnad a joué un rôle de premier plan dans ce mouvement qui vise à rendre la recherche scientifique accessible à tous, sans entraves financières.
Stevan Harnad occupe actuellement le poste de Professeur de Psychologie à l’Université du Québec à Montréal depuis 2002. Avant cela, il a été titulaire de la Chaire de Recherche du Canada en Sciences Cognitives à l’Université du Québec à Montréal de 2001 à 2015.
